       Short Description

Etherean liquiforms are fluid entities native to the planet Ethera-IV, and what few exist on Earth are rarely ever born there. They have no known organs other than their Core, and their appearance is incredibly inconsistent, as each individual can tailor their shape to any specific need they have at the moment, and their coloration varies depending on what they eat most. They usually prefer fleeing to fighting, but are extremely dangerous when hunting.

Appearance:

Though their shapes and colors are inconsistent, all Etherean liquiforms are translucent, and have visible spheroids suspended within themselves. The oblong spheroids are roughly five (5) centimeters across from their most distant points and tend to have a subdued teal or pink coloration and are opaque, while the truly spherical one usually has a 3.5 cm radius and can be any color and in any state of transparency or opacity.

Personality:

From what can be gathered by those who go undetected by these creatures, they seem to be very aloof and indifferent to their surroundings, only really responding to anything when they believe they are in danger or when they are hungry. They rarely, if ever, instigate conflict.

Relationships:

  • Will hunt or ignore Ethereals native to Ethera-IV
  • Will ignore or flee from most other creatures

Likes/Dislikes

They typically like to be in moist environments, especially where there is fruit aplenty. They also seem to enjoy the company of one or two other members of their species (or a similar one) at a time.

They despise excessively dry climates, and will refuse to go near high-heat locations (the tropics are barely within their comfort zone). They also seem to be distrustful of rodents.

Strengths/Weaknesses

They are incredibly mobile, as well as extremely flexible. They never seem to tire out. They can change into any shape they desire, so long as they have enough mass, and they only require one member of the species to reproduce. Their gestation period is incredibly rapid, being around fifteen (15) Earth days. They can also grow to an incredible size (up to that of a two-story house) during their lifespan, bringing enormous strength with that size. They have no vital organs, so they are virtually indestructible. Due to their low psychic openness, they are rather resistant to mental attack.

However, they are also quite sluggish, and lack any sort of understanding of technology. They are mostly solitary, so they can easily be outnumbered. They rarely develop any form of complex plan, and can usually be tricked with relative ease. Should one separate their plasm into multiple pieces, extended time apart could render any part without a core "dead," or unresponsive to the main body's commands. They also can be considered rather cowardly.

Abilities

Their membranes are incredibly pliable and flexible, allowing them to take the form of almost any shape they can think of. They are also very hard to outright kill, as they lack any vital organs to exploit and can live after having been separated from a significant amount of their plasm. Some have developed the ability to fire unfertilized eggs as projectiles, to varying effect. They also have the ability to trap ethereal entities, though this takes monumentous effort and concentration.

History

Etherean liquiforms are native to Ethera-IV, and most of the species' history resides there. It is known that they have slowly developed from mollusk-like beings into purely liquid-like entities, but any sort of specific information regarding what they were like so long ago is currently unavailable, as there are no known surviving members of any species that has encountered them during that time. Supposedly, some four-thousand (4,000) Earth years ago, they began to develop Ethereal sensitivity, enabling them to perceive and interact with their normally intangible neighbors. This did not go well for the native Ethereal entities. Suffice to say, they are known by the Ethereals for hunting them, somehow incorporating their Cores into themselves.

Extra Info

Their anatomy can be separated into membrane ("skin"), plasm (fluid within), and Core (unique sphere inside the plasm). The eggs are not considered part of their anatomy, as they can be separated from all of their eggs with no adverse physical effects taking place.

This is a species sheet created from a character sheet that I have used earlier. I have not posted any visuals for these creatures, but expect them eventually.

The base sheet was created by :iconakageotoha:, whom I highly suggest you check out!
